Electronic Exam Report Transmission

The Division of Credit Unions (Division) is pleased to announce the transition of sending all examination reports through encrypted email for a more efficient process. The Division will begin sending all examination reports electronically beginning on November 1, 2017. If your credit union is unable to receive encrypted email with attachments, please contact Keith Schuster, Program Manager of Safety and Soundness Examinations, at 360-902-8717.

The Division will continue to send the reports to the President/CEO, Board Chair, and Supervisory Committee Chair. We will obtain the email addresses of the recipients from CU Online. To ensure an efficient process, update your credit union’s profile on CU Online by November 1, 2017 to include the Board Chair and Supervisory Chair’s email addresses.

The examination reports are confidential and privileged, and are being provided solely for your confidential use. Disclosure of the report, or information contained therein, is unauthorized and would be punishable as a gross misdemeanor pursuant to RCW 31.12.565. If you receive a request for the disclosure of the report, immediately contact Linda Jekel, Director of Credit Unions.

The Division will continue to ask credit unions to complete the optional exam survey, but the survey will be administered via Survey Monkey for a more efficient process. The comments from the survey serve as critical feedback. The Division utilizes the feedback for employee recognition and/or ways to improve the exam process. Comments of recognition will be shared with the examiner(s). Constructive feedback will only be shared with Division management.

If you have any questions, or need more information regarding the electronic exam process or surveys, please contact Keith Schuster, Program Manager, at keith.schuster@dfi.wa.gov or by phone 360-902-8717.
